As a bestselling author Gabriella Leonardi’s two poetry books, The Art Of The Damaged Soul (Austin Macauley) and The Art Of The Damaged Soul Vol 2 – When Two Souls Collide (Amazon) have both topped The British and Irish poetry charts as well as the Women’s poetry charts multiple times and are available in leading book shops worldwide. One leading critic has described her as “the 21st century Sylvia Plath”. She regularly writes about women’s safety, mental health, climate change and many other issues important to her generation. She enjoys illuminating a viewers understanding of different parts of society.
Gabriella is currently developing the pilot for a 10-part sitcom, I Think My Boyfriend Hates Me about a beautiful but insecure young woman with dreams of becoming a film star who moves with her aspiring musician boyfriend into his parent’s home to save money because they can’t afford the rent. They are a loving but dysfunctional family with a lot of different clashing personalities across the ages which brings a lot of chaos.
As a fan of social realism, Gabriella aims to create films which DNA is similar to narratives written by individuals such as Ken Loach & Andrea Arnold.
